BOSS FIGHT

[So, how have the past few days treated you? Have you found a place to stay? Have you met some friends? Maybe rested enough to recover your wounds? Well, let’s hope so...

Near the beginning of the afternoon a giant shockwave will rumble through the walls and a large explosion will be heard all across the Castle, causing a huge hole to open up from the gardens. And apparently failing to notice the huge door right next to it.

A few moments later, a few dozen ghosts come pouring in, attacking anyone and everything in sight. And that’s only those who have managed to enter the Castle: the troops have the entire area surrounded.

Finally a few moments later a much bigger and larger ghost shows up, gratuitously posing for everyone to see.]

Alright boys, now that Prince Laharl is long gone, this place is ours. Drive out these old sympathisers, we don’t need a bunch of Krichevskoy losers hanging around. Things are gonna change around here.

[The army of ghosts all stop and salute]

[So many...and yet, Terra gets an idea to deal with several of them at once. After a moment's concentration, she fires a burst of flame along the ground, launching the ghosts high upward, one after another. Kain can deal with them before they land, right?]

[It'll definitely give him some easy targets to deal with. Kain comes speeding downward, charging at them with his descent. He aims his spear directly at them... One ghost kebab, coming up.]

[Terra nods in approval, then adds to those airborne by summoning her tornadoes. Using them purely as an offensive tool this time, she has her winds bash some sucked into them against a wall, while others go soaring in all directions. That ought to make things a bit more chaotic, and easier for those defending.]

[Kain lands and begins adding to the ghosts that he'd already stabbed. He adds in his own wind-based attack, Cyclone swirling through the ghostly ranks. But amid the chaos, some of those ghosts are getting their share of hits in on Kain too. They're frustrating, especially with so many of them... it's almost like fighting the manikins all over again.]

[She perks up at seeing Cyclone, wondering how that might be combined with Tornado...but first things first. Focusing on the ghosts attacking Kain, Terra tranforms and batters them with Holy missiles to help thin their ranks. As soon as there's a chance, she's casting Cure on Kain just in case.]

[That helps. It's not so much that the ghosts themselves are all that tough individually... but so many of them really have the potential to wear him down. Kain feels his strength return with the spell, energizing him in the attack once more. Time for another leap skyward.]

[As Kain leaps, Terra takes advantage of his absence on the ground to cast Ultima. It might be the only real way to stop as much of them as she can, fast. She conjures a spherical field of energy around as many of them as she can manage, making it grow larger until it explodes. A second field forms afterward to repeat the effect.]

[The blindingly bright magic spreads below as Kain reaches the height of his jump, but the timing works well for him. As he soars down, wind and energy around him, he aims to target any ghosts that are still around after that Ultima.]

[Some remain, at least outside the blast area, and Terra glides over to get in position for targeting whoever she can as well. Graviga is cast over and over again, to slam into the ground. If they're still stirring after that, they ought to be easy pickings.]

[Kain adds in some more cyclone, before turning to some ground-based attacks. He stabs out with Dragon's Fang and kicks with Lance Burst, going for any targets that are remaining.]

[Terra floats and peers around, as things are -temporarily- quieter.]

We still have to find that big ghost. That's the leader behind all this, right?

I assume so... which means we've no time to waste.

[Terra nods firmly.]

I want to get to him while this lasts....

['This' meaning her current heightened state. In the mean time, she'll have to settle with casting Ultima when the next swarm approaches.]

Very well... then let's go.

[Kain is ready to go another round, and springing into action when they arrive.]
