Meanwhile at the Dimensional Gate...

[Having taken a brief break from her post at the gate (not that there was much to do there anyway,) the Dimensional Gatekeeper returned to the gate and frowned. Something didn’t feel right about the gate.

Even with the gate malfunctioning, it’s magic hadn’t disappeared. It still remained, stable and unchanging--mostly. She could sense the faint traces of magic she didn’t recognize; something foreign to her. Had extra magic seeped in? By all logic, this should be impossible, especially considering it was malfunctioning. Did this mean it had been repaired? In such a short time?

She raised her hand, trying to get a feel of this strange power, but before she could even fully sense it, a small burst of magic shot past her. The new magic had left about as quickly as it had appeared.

Oh well… it was probably nothing.]
