[It is difficult to define what a normal afternoon is by Netherworld standards. In the dark, torch-lit halls of the Overlord's Castle, penguin-suited prinnies totter about pretending to do work, while most other vassals make no effort at all to pretend. No fights have broken out yet, but it is questionable how long that will last with the Overlord being awake. It is just the sort of calm that comes before something unexpected happens, or someone makes it happen out of boredom.

And that is precisely when the first stranger comes through the swirling vortex of the Dimensional Gate.

It doesn't seem so unusual at first, because people use that gate on a daily basis. But more people start to show up, people who aren't demons. The Gatekeeper herself has no idea where they've come from, or how they've found their way to the Netherworld.

Unfortunately, neither do the unexpected guests.]

[Terra hears the sharp breath, turns and immediately falls back into a defensive position. She knows a Warrior of Cosmos when she sees one and can only hope a confrontation is unnecessary. Not only because she has no wish to fight a Cosmos warrior but because she's still in no shape to be exerting herself.]

Please...I don't want to fight you! I told Kain the same thing.

( was... that true? if it was, it was certainly a bit of good new that she could do with. still, she remained with in a half-step back stance, ready to escape if she had to. fighting -- still probably wasn't the best idea in her current state. she knew this magic user to be quite powerful with her spells... )

Did... you follow us here?

[Terra shakes her head, relaxing her stance a touch.]

No. I was fighting manikins and collapsed...and woke up in the infirmary. I didn't even know anyone else from the war was here until I saw Kain in the bed next to mine.

[fayth]

( yuna slowly lowers her staff, a cautious look still about her ) Have we -- been summoned here?

[Terra bites her lip.]

I don't know. I've only seen Kain, otherwise. If the war was to continue here, wouldn't the other warriors be present?

...please, can you tell me if you've seen Vaan?

( she's right -- with further causes yuna to relax -- ) Vaan? ...But why would you be looking for him?

[She stares downward.]

He...saved me. From Kefka. And he told me that I should hide until the war was over, that he would take me to see Cosmos so I could go home, too. But I didn't see him after that, and then there were so many manikins....

Vaan saved you... ( all right, that definitely helps out her case. not to mention... there was certainly something different about terra now than the times that she had seen the other woman on the battlefield. almost as though she could sense... something... )

He... was with us, when we faced off against them. But, I haven't seen him here, no. At least -- he did not arrive with us.

[Terra sighs, disappointed though not terribly surprised. Her luck couldn't be that good.]

I don't remember arriving here, but I'm sure I would have seen him, if he had come with me.

...you were in the Sanctuary, too?

The last time I was there... it was when we decided to go ahead with the mission.

After that -- ( she frowned, obviously bothered by the phenomenon ) I woke up here. Just as Kain had. And now... I suppose you, too.
